Alan Dell MBE Presents Landmark Certificate to BBC World Service Head of Business Continuity and Risk Management

London, April 2010:

The British Broadcasting Corporation's unique in-house accident investigation training program (designed to include minimum criteria from both the IIAI Foundation Certificate in Industrial Accident Investigation and Analysis and the IIAI Lead Accident Investigators' Certificate courses) has produced the first Full Member ever to be accepted by the Institute's Membership Committee on the strength of an in-house award.

                                         Scotland: Stirling Council,

                         Taking the Lead In Accident Investigation

Stirling Council News Release 21/4/09:

"Investigating accidents in the workplace is a job for well-trained, skilled people and Stirling Council has eight more employees who are qualified to carry out this important task. The employees undertook the nationally recognised IIAI Lead Accident Investigators Certificate Course to ensure they have all the skills necessary to carry out in-house accident investigations and aid the management of health and safety across the council."

           Institute Vice Chair supports TfL's Surface Transport MD at

                                             awards ceremony

Douglas Payne, IIAI Executive Committee Vive Chair, told news desk of his 'thorough delight' at being able to attend a Tfl/IIAI award ceremony held recently in London. He said 'David Brown (Managing Director of Transport for London's Surface Transport) took time not only to speak at the ceremony but to personally award new IIAI Members and Lead Accident Investigators' their certificates...to be able to support David and extend the Institute's thanks was a pleasure'.

                Singapore: Prosafe Senior Vice President for HSEQ

                         Addresses Course Completion Ceremony

In the week commemorating the 20th anniversary of Piper Alpha, Prosafe Production (one of the world's foremost owner operators of Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessels) flew a number of its offshore oil operations personnel into Singapore for an IIAI Lead Accident Investigator session.

2008 and 2009 saw two more highly successful course deliveries; the latter of which included personnel from FDPSO Azurite.

   Transport for London Group Director of HSE Presents Certificates

Richard Stephenson, TfL Group Director of HSE, presents IIAI Lead Accident Investigator Certificates to TfL Senior Managers. Richard said, "It is important for TfL to have competent, in-house investigators who are able to lead or assist in all types of investigations. I am particularly pleased to see a number of staff supporting the Institute by taking up personal membership".
